The trick to conducting an Arizona inmate search is determining how long an inmate's sentence is. Inmates serving shorter sentences of less than a year are incarcerated in county jails, while those convicted of felonies are held in state prisons to serve longer sentences. Below is how you search for data on an inmate incarcerated in Arizona county jails or state prisons.

Inmate Search In Arizona Prisons

The Arizona Department of Corrections website is equipped with an Arizona offender locator tool purposely designed to help researchers gather data on inmates in the state's prisons. The researcher must know the inmate's name or ADC number. If you have no ADC number of the inmate, other details alongside their full names like gender and race may reduce your search results.

You may also contact the ADC by email at [email protected] if the search tool does not work for you. Alternatively, call 602-542-5497. The requested inmate data will be sent to you by email unless requested otherwise at a specific fee.

Inmate Search In Arizona Jails

Local police departments and Sheriff's offices are in charge of Arizona county jails. To gain access to information on any inmate within the walls of Arizona county jails, begin by visiting the official websites of the county jails where the inmate is being held. Access the page listing of the police department, and check the navigation bar.

Provide the inmate's requested details to help you access more of their information on the page. Suppose the county jail's official website does not keep inmate records; you are advised to call or visit the department.

The two methods can also get you additional information on the inmate, for instance, their projected release date, parole hearing, and the hearing outcome. Suppose the release date is not listed on the inmate's updated data; the information could be sealed from the public eye as a safety measure for the inmate, or the information can only be viewed by a few authorized people.

If you want details on inmates currently awaiting execution; then the Arizona inmate search tool can help you get their data here.

Arizona Inmate Data

The inmate data you will access at the ADC website will contain inmate information describing their physical appearance, criminal history, sentencing, transfer, and release. You can access this kind of inmate data because the Arizona public records laws have declared such information public.
